Project text:
The hub of life after death is located in the middle of an ocean of calm waters, where newly arrived souls begin their journey on a submerged walkway. The end of this route is at the base of a giant translucent cube, at the top of which you can see the Garden of Eden.
When accessing the cube, souls find a large marble staircase on a rock - the transition from material life to eternal life - leading to an immense lobby, a space for contemplation and reflection. In this reception area, souls are instructed to follow one of the two paths in a maze.
The projected labyrinth is the deconstruction of the medieval labyrinth of the Cathedral of Chartres that represents the path of life and its adversities. In this context, the labyrinth is a retrospective of earthly life. Unlike the medieval labyrinth, it has two paths, one that leads to the center (Heaven) and the other that leads to the outside (Hell). The gardens are a cross between the two paths, allowing the redemption or condemnation of souls.
HEAVEN - Souls arriving at the center find a flight of stairs and a portal that leads to a second flight of stairs suspended over the lobby, which in turn reaches the Cube of Light - Sky.
INFERNO - The souls that leave the labyrinth, cross another submerged path or descend a staircase that gives access to the pier where they find the boatman that will take them to the Underworld.
